I Remember 9/11

This morning in Arizona as I brushed my teeth I remembered what day it was and suddenly the memories and images of those planes hitting the two towers came rushing back to me. I remembered how I felt as I watched on my television the towers fall one after the other and my stomach instinctively tightened again.

At my sink this morning tooth brush in hand, I said a little prayer for those poor souls who died that day. I hope all Americans will take time to remember that day, what it meant to us, how it changed us as a country.

Someday I will tell my two daughters about that day and how it affected me. I will tell them that instead of thinking of how to negotiate with these evil people I wondered how we defeat them.  I wasn’t thinking (pobrecitos) those “poor” people just need to be understood and because of our compassion they’ll stop attacking us, I was thinking that they needed to be hunted down and killed before they can kill any more innocent people. I will tell them to remember.

Seven years later and we have not been attacked again and I thank God for that.

I remember.

Obama Camp in Disarray

What a day, the Obama Campaign must feel like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest right now. Three incidents are hogging up all the hot air around the campaign and diverting focus on defending political gaffes instead of talking about the issues.

  • Joe Biden says to supporters that Hillary might have been a better VP pick, which of course started everyone asking themselves and answering that question with "yes". Apparently not even Joe Biden can figure out why he was chosen over Hillary.
  • Yet another attack on working moms today as according to Politico.com the South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler said that Sarah Palin's primary qualification was NOT having an abortion. This will even further infuriate those women already mad about the personals attacks on Palin at a time when the Obama campaign is trying hard to stop further female defections to McCain.
  • Obama himself used the phrase "like putting lipstick on a pig". Now, Barack Obama (to paraphrase Joe Biden) is a clean cut and smart politician, not some rookie. Any one who watches the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnkI0lyIzcc will hear the crowd laugh before the punchline. Its pretty obvious that Obama knew or should have known the way the statement was being taken. If you still believe that the insult was unintentional you must ask yourself how Obama could not immediately clarify the target of his attack. Instead he has chosen to spend the rest of the day and night defending what he said. I ask myself what would the reaction have been had McCain made the mistake of using the phrase "let's call a spade a spade" and not immediately apologized and clarified his remark?
All this negativity from the Democrats has created a political black hole that if not stopped, its gravity will suck in and destroy not only Obama but all the other Democrats hoping to ride his coat tails to victory in November's election.

Hello!

Coming soon.

My blog on current events, issues and politics.

I am Hispanic, Christian and Conservative so pretty much the LULAC and MECHA believers (not to mention the Democrats) already hate me. It is my conviction that hispanic Americans must have a conservative voice to try to counter the deluge of Leftist indoctrination assualting our children every day. This is my endeavor.

I will tackle issues in a way every day "joes" I hope will understand. I offer help thinking through issues, finding facts and minimzing all the "unintended consequences" wrought by feelings based liberal policies and positions.

Talk to you soon,
Guszilla
